Bring it on.
The liberal socialist atheists must learn that they can't have their way by imposing atheism as a national religion, in violation of the Constitution, and that these displays are in accordance with freedom of expression and the direct spirit of the Constitution.
If people don't like it, they don't have to look, just as when I practiced Judaism, I didn't especially look at Christmas trees.
If people don't like the displays, it's just tough and too bad for them. They can either not look or get the hell out of the country, and I wish it would be the latter.
Not everyone is going to be pleased anyway, so why shouldn't it be the people with sense and values who are pleased, instead of every liberal pinhead with an axe to grind, and the world isn't tailored to their specifations?

I don't see what good it will really do. If a person isn't religious, will they see them and say to themselves, "oh, well they don't apply to me." If you are religious, you should already know them and be living your life accordingly. If you want to post rules of conduct, the ten commandments seem sort of foolish when you take religious context out of them... they are so obvious. Think about going to a mall and seeing a sign that read:
Rules the Live by:
Respect your parents
Don't kill others
Don't cheat on your spouse or with another's
Don't steal
Don't lie
Don't envy other people's things
Well, DUH! Aren't those part of the basic operating instructions you should need to be reminded of? I mean what if everywhere you went, every relevant law was posted? You'd go to a restaurant and there'd be a sign that read:
Wear clothes
Don't assault others
Pay for your food
Don't take silverware
Don't take food from others
Etc...
People aren't stupid. Murderers aren't saying "well, I wouldn't have killed the guy if the 10 commandments had been on the wall at the post office."
What this is really about is certain Christians who fear the spread of other religions and are trying to defend against what they believe is a secular assault on their beliefs by trying to inject their beliefs into public places. Often their argument is that America was based on "Christian beliefs" and blah blah blah. Even if that were the case, the founders still insisted on separation of church and state.

If they are displayed by an individual, by a church, by a business, or by an organization, I don't care. They have every right to display whatever they want to display.
Even though they are part of my background (I'm Jewish), I still oppose to them being displayed in government buildings, public schools and the likes. There is a difference between freedom of religion and endorsing religion.

Absolutely Yes!! EVen though some may object for religious reasons, I think they should be able to be displayed for Historical and moral grounds.

I think it is perfectly fine for the Ten Commandments to be publicly displayed. Why is everyone so afraid of God? So much so that they must smite down every reference to Him?

Well, if our Pledge tells us that this country is UNDER GOD..........I think it's ok to display this right??? Other religions display things that they want us to see..........FREEDOM OF RELIGION!!!!! Why can't Christians display this stuff freely when this country was origionally founded on Christianity???!!!!
Oh, well.......good luck with your discussion.......and this is an excellent question. I'm sure you'll hear plenty of stuff........

I think that it is not legal as I've read in a court case and also it would create (since it was in a court) a unhealthy enviroment for people in the court who did not belive in the 10 commandments and did not believe in Monotheilism (believing in one god for example: Hindu)

It wouldnt bother me where it was posted its not something you can command people to take notice of. With the advent of tv and shocking pictures of injured and dead bodies its like people become immune to things and dont seem to notice it anymore

i think it would be great alot of people have probably never seen them and if they would post them maybe they would look and read them and try to do better with there life . alot of people need to see and obay them and the world would be ALOT better. instead of all the clubs and gags were they hunt people down they would have that so they could see the commandments before they do it.

I think it is cool, the first 3 are the most "offensive" if anybody is gonna complain. We have signs up in our city that are freakin sweet - no cussing.
