So, this is kind of personal, but my upstairs neighbor is complaining about my squeeky bed... how do I quiet it?
It is a wood frame with metal to wood joints, a mass production bed, much like you would find at Art Van.
Since stopping the activities that produce the noise are not an option, what can I do to the bed to reduce the noise that IT makes?

Thanks for your help!

Tighten all the nuts and bolts that you can. You could also find rubber matting to place under the legs or posts of the bed to help quiet it. Finally, use some type of oil to lubricate the joints. Penetrating oil will evaporate a lot quicker than something like 3 in 1 oil.

If it is a question of the mattress and box springs squeaking, then they will have to be replaced.

good luck.

Fool around at her place. :-) Double check the joints and make sure they are all tight. Make sure the bolts are the right size/diameter. Get some L brackets and attach the frame/headboard to the wall. If you have a wood floor get some carpet pieces..you know the kind you buy for welcome mats, put one under each leg. Put some extra slats under the box springs. Any one of these will probably help, but I bet the major cause is the bolts are not big enough.

Use sometype of oil lube, tighten all the nuts and bolts. Make sure the headboard isnt hitting the wall. Try diffrent things if one doesnt work move on to something else.
