Water is not a mixure. A mixure is when two different compounds come together. compounds are formed from two molecules of an element fusing together.

Water is a compound, H2O. Two parts hydrogen, one part oxygen. Two hydrogen molecules came and fused together with one oxygen molecule.

Water is also called the universal solvent, because it can dissolve (mix with) more substances than any other. It can't dissolve fat or oil.
