why is my transmission in my 01 taurus spitting back trans fluid?

because it is TOO FULL!

Check the level of the trans. fluid with the motor and transmission warm in park. It should be between the lines.

When does it spit the trans fluid back at you? When you fill it up or when it's driving down the road? Both are different problems.
