LSU has been dominating and the ranking is well deserved and overdue.

I personally don't think USC would be so glorified if they had to play in the SEC. They haven't been playing very good teams.

Now, for next week's game against Florida, LSU had better bring their A game. I know Florida lost to Auburn in the last few seconds, but that doesn't make them any less of a threat. If anything, they'll be playing harder to make up for the loss.

But, nature says LSU has an upper hand:

Lsu deserves the top spot. They've defeated higher ranked teams and will continue to defeat tougher teams than usc. Boasting the number 1 defense in the nation doesnt hurt either. (USC is completely overated, as we will see when they play cal and oregon)

I think it's about time.

Hey TFoley, what's the problem??? It isn't LSU's fault that your trojans went out and BARELY won against a unranked team. See what happens when USC starts playing half-way decent teams? They struggle. Wait till Cal gets to play them...they won't even be #2 then....

Yea USC is #a million is the polls that count number yet when LSU can stay undefeated till the BCS comes out they are going to be #a million absolutely because they wouldve performed and beaten extra ranked communities than all and distinct interior the rustic. VT USC (sec) FL Kentucky

USC is overrated. If LSU ever played USC LSU would easily win.

I will simply put it as " A GREAT DAY TO BE A TIGER FAN!"

Its been a long time coming. USC has been overranked for quiet some time.

Congrats to the Tigers & Les Miles! Les Miles did something Saban tried to do for years and couldnt accomplish!

& as always.... GEAUX Tigers!

Has LSU played a road game yet? Must be nice.

It seems to me to be premature to chest-pound, either way, seeing that USC is #1 in the only two polls that count ( http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/polls ). Also, there is a lot of football to play, and neither may be undefeated by the end of the season.

Based on the way USC played yesterday, LSU deserves to be #1 for now.

But if they played, USC would destroy LSU.
