the jena 6?

I see questions frequently about the jena 6. but I skip over them because I am not familiar with the case, can someone fill me in?

here is a timeline of events i have gave to other people - kind of gives you the jist of things - scroll to the middle where it says chronological timeline or something like that and it will tell you day by day what happened

it's kind of hard to summarize - basically the town has racial issues - the black kids sat under a tree that usually the white kids sat under - the next day there were nooses hanging - all this escalated and whites beat blacks and black beat whites -
6 black boys (jena 6) beat a white boy unconcious and stomped and stood on his head after he was unconcious and almost killed him. The were charged as adults for attempted murder. The black people rallied complete with Al Sharpton's racist @ss and Jesse Jackson - The real issue was that the black boys were charged for their crimes and the involvement that the white boys had in the other crimes were somewhat swept under the rug - Alot of the blacks think the black boys had a right to beat up the white boy because of the nooses, racial slurs, etc. - Alot of the white people in the town think they should have been charged with attempted murder even though he was released from the hospital a few hours later and went to a party that night - there are just so many details. The update is that Mychal Bell (he was the only one still in jail because he had like 3 or 4 assault charges in the same year) has just got out and the charges have been turned over to juvenile court.

To sum it up......6 pathetic black kids beat up 1 white kid and now bigot Al Sharpton and Jesse James Jackson are using fear tactics and got one of them released from jail.
