The actors don't make the movie...Not really sure what your trying to ask sorry.I guess if the actor is a big shot and can make the movie more dramatic for viewers it would help if this is what you asking.

Some actors (through their agents) can ask for a percentage of the films profits, in STEAD of a high salary. If the film does well, at the box office and subsequent DVD sales, the actor shares in the movie's success. On the other hand, if the film tanks, the actor makes less.

These details are worked out during salary negotiations. I CAN work to the actor's benefit, and this may be motivization for the actor to do his best, DURING filming, and to go out and promote the film, before its release.

The actor, who played Chewbacca, in the first Star Wars film, chose to take a flat salary for his role. When the film proved to be the biggest grossing film, up to that time, he didn't make as much as the actors who chose to take a percentage of the net profits.

Draw power

Proven draw power

Sean Connery has it, Brad Pitt has it, Jim Carey has it, Arnold has it, Vin Diesel has it, Jessica Alba has it (and a lot more!)

What? Ah, you mean, "Why are stars paid so much?" They draw an audience (sell tix) that make everyone rich.
