I just purchased it 3 weeks ago! I have a 3/4 acre yard and today it is my 4th time to use it. I see black smoke started coming out and it started losing power....

What could be wrong??? please help.

First and foremost don't do anything to void your warranty! Everybody knows how manufacturers are always looking for ways to deny warranty claims! You paid good money (lots of it for a Toro) to have a machine in good running order. Allow the dealer a chance to remedy the situation.

I would think it highly unlikely, but check the air filter. The mower may be running too rich. With the mower as new as it is, I doubt if the filter would already be plugged, but you never know.

It is under warranty, so take the mower to a Toro certified repair shop.

good luck.

Your air filter may be clogged. Also, check the engine cooling fins for grass and dirt. You may have to remove the outer shell to access this. If the engine can't cool because the cooling fins are clogged with debris, it will overheat the engine. This happened to my Troy Built week whacker and a repair man showed me how to clean it. After that it ran at full power again. Don't turn it on again until you check this. If this is not the problem, I don't know but would suggest you take it to a small engine repair person.

Check your spark plus are firmly in (and clean), and that there isn't too much oil in the system.
Sometime things aren't as tight as they should be when they come out the factory.... I hate it when that happens...

Good luck,

It should still be under warranty. Let your dealer service it.
