The Stanley Cup Trophy is North American's oldest sport trophy.

This weekend, Ducks and Kings played the first two regular games in London. That Ducks bring the Stanley Cup to London for first time.

I never know about that the famous trophy had made in London, not in North America.

Lord Stanley was from England so that's where he ordered the cup he wanted to give away. I'm guessing that the standard of silversmithing in those days was higher in the mother country than in the dominions. A later Governor General of Canada was not to be outdone so Earl Grey gave a cup for football and invented a new tea.
