I have a small area (2m^2) of concrete that i would like to do something to to make it easy to clean. (it is under a stove)
I thought about polishing it but cant seem to find anywhere to hire the tools from ( i would like to do it myself) and wondered if anybody knew, a) somewhere i could hire something like a ds 301 planetary polisher from or b) what else i could to to it (resins...??)
thank you

Mix Portland cement with the colour of your choice and apply
thin layer.
Allow it to dry for atleast 24 hours and watch the results,
you may also add colored chips of marbles or granite when
applying but them you may have to polish them.

A coating of polyurethane should add gloss if you wish.

Ok, this is what you need, all the other answers so far didn't get what you where asking, yes you can hire an electric machine to polish concrete, it has a diamond head which spins, it takes a little effort but works a treat, the hire company i work for also does really large versions but these are petrol powered and are a bit large for what you want.
The machine is made by Makita and is primarily used to dress walls and grind down footing, it looks just like a random orbital sander but is more robust.

Look in your phone book for a Terrazzo finisher. Not sure they will do such a small job but it is worth the asking.
