Has to be number 2, It gives a very gritty realism to the whole trilogy. One of the few films that the sequel is better than the original. Not many films you can say that about.

i think as the 3 godfather film as one epic film, but if push come to shove and it has being critically proven that the godfather 2 is not only the best sequal of all time but the best film of all time as well.

The second Godfather is the best because you get backstory. The first was without a doubt great.
The third one just proved Sofia Coppola should stick to writing and directing. (To Karen h - did you see all of part 3? He doesn't die on the theater steps.)

That's difficult. My daughter would say the second, because of De Niro, which I have to admit was amazing, but I think I prefer the last one. Pacino was much better than he was in the first, probably because he'd done a lot more films and was a more established actor.

I have the Trilogy, and I really like each of them. If I had to pick just one, I have to pick the first one...it was the foundation for all the rest and it created the setting for such great storytelling.

I love the first one because Al just looks so hot in it!!!! Seriously its just a perfect film. The second one is also excellent but the final one is tripe.

You can't really seperate them as it was all one film cut into section's to make several parts one is no good without the rest.
