When one is at the peek of his feeling like 'intense attraction', he gets so mystified that his rationality seemingly plunges down beyond reasons and effects. He only heeds one call, sees only one direction, desires only but one - to be with his object of extreme fondness. This could be fatal sometimes if one loses the ability to communicate with the rest of his outside world. This is when his point of irrationality comes to its finale.

Desire and intellect are in opposition with each other. Problems occur when a person cannot balance their desire and intellect. Credit card companies, drug dealers try to abuse this to their advantage. Religions help, but sometimes they just make people repress their true feelings. All I can say is from the standpoint of any individual, the world isn't fair.

Because it looks like the punch through to escape from the vale of tears. Worth every sacrifice. Like hoping for, and betting everything on that hope for, the fourth ace in a hand.

Because its driven by basic instincts (sexual attraction) and that is the most basic of all instincts to cause conflict if the object of ones desire is not securely ones own. Even animals fight to be "the one" ...

Passion is madness.
The Buddha, for example spoke in praise of Dis-passion (-ateness).
Just another side to the coin, that can help keep life on an even keel.
Passion is fun though. :-)
Sometimes... :-)
