If you have plants for the fry to hide, any of the livebearers (guppies, platys, swordtails, or mollies) are easy. You might also be interested in cichlids, as most give parental care. Convicts are extremely easy, but the problem you'll have is finding homes for the fry - they're TOO easy to spawn, so there's available in abundance! If you might be interested in cichlids, try one of the Africans or more unusual South Americans - you can often place these with privately owned fish stores in exchange for store credit toward merchandise or livestock. See some of the species below, then you can google info on spawning. You might also ask around at the privately owned stores in your area as to species which they might be interested in obtaining locally.

most fish will eat anything that will fit in their mouth. some cichlids are exceptions to this rule. get a pair of black convict cichlids. they are not expensive, will breed at a small size and will actually care for their young.

well guppies, i found they were pretty easy to keept the youn alive

when they hjave babies, catch them and put then in another tank or breeding net/box

make sure, since not every one can catch them having babies and put them in another thank, that you already have rocks and plants with big foliage so that they can hide.
