On one hand, lots of the animals are put through really harsh treatments and they suffer alot and sometimes even die, which I think is extremely cruel and unethical. But on the other hand, animal testing helps us discover cures and vacinations that can treat certain diseases which saves the lives of many people. So it's really a question of whether you would rather have tons of animals die just for the possibility that we might save some people. But lots of times the scientists don't even discover anything from the experiments so all those animals suffered for nothing. That's my opinion, what's your's? ;]]

it is mean but yet some of it has saved thousands of people. I wish people could all see the future and if what they were trying was going to hurt them. maybe we should start cloning stuff and test it on that.

I am totally against it.

I recently found out that they test Tampax Tampons on Rabbits. Why they feel the need to test a tampon on a rabbit is entirely beyond me.

I've always thought, and I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me, that we waste so much money keeping harsh criminals in prision and we also spent a lot of money on animal testing. Most of the time, there's really not a whole lot you can tell from testing on an animal because they're so different from humans. What better way to allow someone who's raped and murdered fifteen innocent people to pay back society than to allow them to be subject to test expiriments.

I love how so many people would say, "Nooooo, that's cruel and unfair to the human". So this human, who's a cold hearted murderer is more important than an innocent animal.

Ugh.

I hate animal testing.

Ah... I remember that a couple of years ago I did a persuasive essay on this.

I myself am against animal testing. As you said, sure, it may help us discover cures and vaccinataions to save people's lives, but I still do not find it to be right.

I'm extremely against testing things like make-up and other beauty products on animals! I mean, what kind of human being could honestly think that putting eyeshadow on a rabbit and causing it to go blind due to the extensive testing is justifiable? There's really no reason for it!

The only reason why I might consider animal testing okay is if there was a serious break through that scientists honestly believed would work and save millions of lives. (eg: the cure for AIDS & HIV)

I 100% agree with you. I think animal testing in some circumstances is a necessary evil as research is needed to help find cures for dreadful diseases and conditions. Humans come first.

I'm against testing animals like dolphines or horses, cats or dogs.
But with mice and rats...they reproduce so quickly. I'm not saying its right, but I guess if I had to chose, I would prefer that mice and rats were tested on. But the bottom line is it's wrong and the people who normaly benfit from the deaths are snobby and rich and don't care about average people.

IMO, animals are meant to be used by humans, but not abused. There are some times when it is a necessity to use animals for tests for the good of humans, such as for medical experiments. Testing for a luxury, such as make-up testing, is unecessary and unacceptable. So long as we try every other option before using animals for testing and so long as we do all we can to make it as painless as possible and to treat them as well as we can before, during, and after the test, I believe animal medical testing is acceptable.

I agree with ??? Eukanuba is crap dog food and has alot of grains in it. Where Orijen has no grains, 70% protein and 30% fruit and veggies. I use it on my Beagle and he really likes it. My vet had him on MEDICAL then switched him to Royal Canin for weight loss. He lost nothing and hated the taste of the dog food. I found out about Orijen and that it's good for overweight dogs and since my Beagle has been on it now for a month he has lost weight and enjoys the taste of the food. As well not loosing hair like crazy where he was before on the other dog food. Why was he loosing so much hair? Its because the dog food before had grains in it and many dogs are allergic to grains in large quantities and therefore many shed like crazy and/or lose hair and go bald on various parts of their body. If I was you, stick to the Orijen.

I really don't agree with animal killing. If not testing on the animals then what...humans?

animals are inferior to humans only in that they cannot communicate with us. they feel pain, they are conscious and knowing. killing them to save humans... it's like killing the child to save the parent.
