Dehydration causes the internal organs to shut down, causing a painful death.

Yes. Dehydration causes mental confusion and you are more likely to make bad decisions. If you are stranded somewhere, you should drink whatever water you need as you need it. The first day is when you will make critical decisions, and you need to be clear-headed at that time. Thus, rationing the water also decreases your chance of survival.

Dehydration cause you to not think straight, slow down and eventually die. All of these factors could lead to you not being rescued.

In order to increase your chances of rescue, you need to think clearly, develop a plan of action and execute it.

When you dehydrate, your electrolytes become unbalanced. Electrolytes are any of various ions, such as sodium, potassium, or chloride, required by cells to regulate the electric charge and flow of water molecules across the cell membrane. Too much or too little of these ions cause cardiac arrhythmia and, ultimately, death. Dehydration also causes mental confusion and inability to form lucid and rational thought.

Because the body starts shutting down and if dehydration goes too far, it's very difficult to repair the damage done.

well not a lot to work on here, but if you are very or extremely dehydrated then you won`t have enough energy or strength to yell and the body will start to shout down other less vital organs to protect the hart. good luck
