LOL husband and I have given three categories to the movies we like...... the "Rock 'em, Sock'em" movies - that includes the best of the Westerns with the great old actors; and good war movies. The "Creepie Crawlies" that feature the intervention of the Supernatural into the lives of regular people, who then have to find ways to get rid of 'em. And finally the "Grim an' Grizzlies" where some mass murderer is bumping people off left and right in hideous ways.
Weird selection, considering that the two of us are about the most ordinary, kind, non-violent, gentle, friendly people you'd could ever meet LOL. I suppose to be fair I ought to admit that I'm the one who loves the last two categories. Husband's taste is pretty much confined to the first one.

I must admit it..... I am not a senior yet. I do love the old black and white horror movies! I do not care for the blood and gore movies though. Freddy and Jason type movies.. not my style. Lost Boys, Dracula (Bram Stokers), and Salem's Lot are some of my favorite newer vampire films. My all time favorite "horror" film is a classic. No vampires though. Rocky Horror Picture Show. Let's do the time warp again!!

I used to love to watch the old horror movies, up until they started making really horrible horror movies -- the type with blood and gore and unpredictability. That turned me off the genre forever.
Gone are the good old days of Bela Lugosi, Christopher Lee, Boris Karloff and Lon Chaney Jr., and "The Raven," with Vincent Price and Peter Lorre.
I watched "Friday the 13th," and that is the last new horror movie I ever watched. Loved "Saturday the 14th," though.

I have a marked dislike for vampires...mind you I love the later Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice (just not the first), but for some reason I have a real aversion to watching vampire movies.
Ones like The Lost Boys make my skin crawl, and THAT is supposed to be a COMEDY!

But I do love reading horror stories. The original Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Pet Sematary by Stephen King. Everything by Dean R. Koontz. John Saul.

I love vampire movies, and sci fi movies (particularly the old ones--they are often unintentionally funny!). But I'm almost fifteen years older than you and I only consider myself a "senior citizen" when it saves me money. LOL. At 51, you're still a spring chicken.

I still watch those old horror movies on my own with the lights switched off for an extra thrill. I live in the bush far from civilization.. so just shows you what a serious junkie I am. You are not strange. LoL.

I enjoyed the Lost Boys and watch it every time it comes on TV. But I only like the old vampire pictures with Bela Lugosi. I am not too keen on today's versions. Just too gory for me.

I'm not a fan of them, but my hubby is. Those and westerns.
When we had cable, he would sit up late at night, any night,
to watch a vampire picture, if he hadn't seen that particular
one. There were times, that he'd nod off, and before that, he'd
tell me to wake him before the vampire movie came on, cuz
he didn't want to miss it LOL. Sometimes he'd want to keep
sleeping tho. But other times, he'd wake himself up to watch.
He has this thing about trying to watch every vampire movie
and every western made. I think he's just about there LOL.
