again tell me where in the code you find this,, some folks say it is not in the code

It is absoultely NOT a code violation anywhere to install GROUND; UP; Down; over; around; side to side; Do dah do dah day.

In large part it's habitual in that the original contractor might have learned things from someone who had vague notions of the laws of Physics and Gravity; that truly don't apply.

I'll give you an example albeit completely irrelevant; inane; and inconsequential.

Assume for a moment that one contractor; engineer; manufacturer has determined some weight bearing properties on the TWO prongs, as they relate to the Ground Prong...BTW that ground prong is often the first to break or degrade. The assumption might be that the ground prong aids in support of the others? OR Vice Versa? Neither is the case.

So to directly answer the immediate Q...SMILE,,, sure FUN is happening.

I checked the code on the last question and couldnt find an answer so basically its your choice. The code quoted was grounding I just dont see a section covering outlet positions.Fun? maybe! isnt wasting time looking for something that isnt there fun.

if the outlet vertical or horizontal,the ground goes to the green screw,it is not against the code.
