AP poll is out and LSU is the new #1. It was extremely close. What do you all think about that?

USC BARELY beat Washington. It was just a matter of time for LSU to pass them, and this was the one that did it.

lets wait for the BCS polls to post.....but they probably wont.
While most of us have seen that LSU is looking like the better team, They would have to post a strong win against a real opponent to pass USC. Or USC would have to lose. Since they both played relatively weak teams.....(though honestly Tulane was by far the weaker), they will maintain the stuatus quo. There are about 5 or 6 teams that are Media Darlings....and they have to choke big time to get bumped. USC is the media Queen.

How else could you explain a 2 loss team (and yep...same goes for Notre Dame) being in the BCS bowls last season?

LSU is the better team...and think of how sweet it will be when they prove it...like Vince Young did. Screw the media, screw the coaches poll.....the best team will make their statement by winning.

*Jeff...the AP poll comes out sunday......that is not the important one. The BCS is not determined by it....RELAX DUDE!!!!!!! ( I believe the coaches still vote monday...and the BCS commes out tuesday or wednesday.....deep breathes...its not the end of the world, relax...easy....easy)

LSU is Number 1 in the polls for the first time since November 2, 1959. I was five years old.

I watched the LSU game. I wasn't near as impressed with them as anyone who gave them the number one vote. Washington is by far the best 3 loss team in the country, and LSU played a terrible Tulane team, that was in the game until the end when LSU's depth proved to much. LSU was leading 30-9, with 4 minutes to play and threw deep on first down. For that reason alone, I wouldn't give them the number one vote.

LSU & USC were close all season, but with the close game that USC had with Washington....it may have swayed some voters. USC should still be number 1, but i can't argue to hard with LSU leap-froging them by 1 first place vote!!

I would go with LSU for now. They are playing more impressively.
