i have no audio/sound how do i get it ive tried alot of things my chipset 915 family express intel, .i installed windows xp pro ,step by step plz, no i dont have a drivers cd, it also gives an error msg for volume control that says i have no mixer installed

Above advice is all good. In addition, go to "driveragent.com" where an online scan will match you with ALL the drivers you need.

You need to load the mother board drivers. They should be on a disk that came with the machine. If you don't have the disk, go th Gateway's web site. Under Support, do a search for you computer model and download the drivers.
You will also need to load the drivers for any add-on cards that you might have installed.
