I burnt myself with a crepe maker, and I need to know what stuff I should put on it to keep it from getting infected.

Neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment-You can find both of these at Wal-mart. Aloe is the best and helps alot(like the stuff you use after a sunburn) You can take Tylenol for discomfort and can use a cool pack-NOT A COLD ONE-just cool on top. I burnt my arm on the 4th Of July and still have a scar-Good Luck!! NO ICE! It will blister worse.

Any burn should be first cooled with cold running water to remove the heat and to stop the burn from going deeper. Do not put any kind of ointment on it. Aloe gel is fine, but ice is best.

Vinegar will help it heal. After the first day bacitracin or tri-biotic cream will keep infection from the burn, but open air without petroleum based ointments is the best thing for a burn. Covering it will prolong the healing period.

1st, 2nd or 3rd degree
1st Heavy red burn - nothing, keep it clean and avoid soaking wet, put a pain ointment or antibiotic+pain cream on it.
2nd Blisters. Protect the blister. Drain it to keep the skin intact (a sterile needle), antibiotic on any cracks or openings, keep covered with sterile dressing, don't get soaking wet or put in anything but clean or mildly soapy water (i.e. not dish water)
3rd Charred skin - see doctor immediately.

Put ice on it as soon as spooible to help with the sweeling and the blister that likely occur. Next, put a bandage over it to protect it from infection.
