No. Don't stop playing music. EVER! Doing what you love isn't wrong. There is no such thing as normal. There are baseline behaviors... and let's face it, most baseline behaviors are boring! Who wants to be considered among the "median" of any group? I certainly don't! 30 is so young... I'm only a couple of years older than you and it's just now starting to sink in how little time I've spent on this planet. Growing up is not about conforming to a norm, it's about gaining maturity and wisdom, both of which are things that can be achieved at almost any age. If you focus on that then what the outside world thinks of your appearance becomes irrelevant. People will judge you by how you look and they will still be wrong for it. So forget them and just work on being the best you that you can be. Follow your heart, love your work, leave your hair long and RAWK OUT, DUDE! :)

What's not normal about playing music if you are able to do so !?! & or has the equipment to do so ,,, Lets see: People like Hendrix,Janice Joplin,James Brown,Rod Stewart & many more are or was great contributers in music !! & well past the age of 30 !!! "They all made mega money while in the 30's !! & older !! Sure all are'nt "METAL~HEADS" !! but had personalities much like some "METAL~HEADS/musicians/proformers!! Go for it !! Oh,' & Jerry Garcia was like a God to some !! when it came to ?? music !!

Who says you aren't 'normal the way you are? What the hell is 'normal' these days anyway? The majority? I don't think so.
Screw what everyone else thinks, and do your own thing.
I'm 43, with not a lot of hair left, but I'm not going to stop doing the things I like because of my age.
I still love to crank up the Motorhead, Judas Priest, and Slayer. Especially after a few beers....

I hate to tell you this but I don't think having long hair and loving rock music at 30 is abnormal.

Good people will like you for doing what you want to do and not follow trends... but I think you already know that.

No, be true to yourself. I'm not a fan of long hair but if that's what you're comfortable with, keep it. Don't change anything for other people or you'll be unhappy. Do what makes you happy. My world would be nothing without music, so rock on.

You should only cut your hair if you feel like it. Music is a way of life...if you have the skills to play it you're a very lucky person. You should always share that gift with the world.

I'm a 44 year old metal head, though I did shave my head. Hair doesn't matter; music does. Who wants to be 'normal' anyway (whatever that means).

Do what you want. Whatever you want would not make you abnormal. You are your own self. Besides, there are thousands of people like you too. Just be yourself and be happy. Don't give a crap about what other people would tell you. As long as you think you're not doing anything wrong then do what you want.
