i l little about Macs and was wondering how easily they could be up graded, also where is the best place to buy a new Mac is there online store any cheaper then most retail stores?

Upgrading is not difficult for most items but some Macs (and the same for PCs) are difficult to replace the processor so just go ahead and get the highest speed processor at the start.
There is not much difference in the prices of different stores and that includes the online Apple store. You can sometimes find good prices for refurbished Macs at stores. Search for "refurbished" at the Apple store online. Refurbs have the full warranty and any obvious scratched case parts are replaced by Apple before they are sold.
