The other night my boyfriend (45) was at a friend's house & talking all of a sudden his left hand curled in (looked like when someone snaps their fingers) & his head tilted to the left. His hand was stiff & he had pain around his right eye. He asked his friend to time it because he couldn't turn his head to look at the clock, it lasted for a little more than 3 minutes. It has only been a couple of days since this happened, but my boyfriend is usually really funny & made alot of faces. When I asked him if he could raise his eyebrows he could raise them both at the same time, He could raise the left one, but not the right (alone)
Also, his mouth; you know how Elvis Presley had a lip curl? Well, my boyfriend could curl the top 2 sides of the lips & the bottom too, but he can't curl the bottom right side. He believes that his blood pressure is in the normal range.

see a doctor immediately - it may have been a TIA which in layman's terms means mini stroke. please i beg you seek medical attention asap, if it was a stroke / TIA it may have been caused by blood clots which might stop blood flow to his brain it may even move to his heart causing a blockage or his lungs all of which KILL.
PLEASE PLEASE seek medical advice, help and treatments

Pain or a reaction in the left arm is usually a sign of a heart attack, but the other signs definitely point to a stroke. It is possible that a stroke might have brought on a heart attack.

He should have gone to emergency and forgotten about timing it. This isn't like labor pains, you don't get a sweet gift after having a heart attack or a stroke.

Even though his blood pressure returned to normal after the incident, he probably had either a stroke or a heart attack or both and should definitely have it checked.

Oh dear! Please make him go to the hospital. Even if it isn't, though it sounds like one... he needs treatment ASAP. That night when it started would have been the best time for him to go!Strokes are no laughing matter, and the longer you wait the more damage the brain can suffer is he is having mini strokes. They can happen without symptoms even!

He really needs to see a doctor right away, could have been a stroke, a seizure or some other neurological condition. He may have been lucky to have gotten by this episode, but something bigger may be brewing.

Very possible, I ignored the signs of a stroke for two days and it took it's toll. I suggest a trip to the emergency room for evaluation. ASAP When I was there they told me I had had two stroke previously and had two active ones. Again ASAP

He needs to have it checked immediately. It sounds like a TIA which is a stroke warning. Don't ignore it. The next one could cause permanent damage or death.

The only way to know for sure is to see a doctor. I would start with his PCP but he will probably refer him to a neurologist. He definately needs to get this checked out. Good Luck!

It could also have been a seizure. He needs to see a doctor about this to find out for sure what is happening.
