We have successfully used a couple of different things. Yes, Ivomectin is one of those. However, its about $30 a bottle depending on where you by it. You would get the injectable, but if you are uncomfortable with doing an injection, you can give about 4 drop orally, and then repeat at ten days.
The other one sounds real crazy but from personal experience it works. That is to give your rabbits a bath in Listerine. I know sounds crazy, but think of it this way, if nothing else at least your rabbits smell good. Yes, it does get rid of the mites.
You can you flea powders for cats, but come of the ingredients can cause a rabbit to have seizures so you want to be real careful with that type of medicine.
You will also want to clean the rabbits cage very meticulously.

Rabbits can pretty much be treated for mites the same way a cat is. So if you see a cat treatment for fur mites it should work the same.
HOWEVER...
Most rabbit breeders use Ivermectin to treat fur mites. To treat it at home, you'd need to probably buy a bottle of Ivomectin for baby pigs, then give it a subcataneous shot (a shot right under the hide) right behind the rabbit's neck. The medicine is fairly expensive and if you have only one rabbit to treat it may be cheaper to go to the vet. Rabbit breeders that raise a lot of rabbits will normally buy the medicine and treat the rabbits themselves and treat all of their rabbits at the same time.

Rabbits have very sensitive skin.Try washing him in diluted baby shampoo, then comb him out with a flea comb. You need to call a vet for help if you want pesticides. DO NOT use anything meant for a dog or cat on it, you could kill him.

there really is no home remedy. You can try brushing it out and if he is a long haired guinea pig try trimming his hair. Always make sure you really clean his hutch out well but i really would advise going to the vets. It really doesnt cost that much.
