We have six computers in the house and im pretty sure there is a firewall that stops unwanted people using the internet. About a week ago only three computers were connected and I bought a laptop and clicked on connect and typed in the password and I had internet. Then wihile I was away, my mom had a computer specialist come help add two apples to the wireless internet. She did but know I cant get any internet. On my vista pc it says your connceted but and the signal is strong but I cant get internet. We think its becasue there is a limit of 5 computers that is allowed on the network? How do i fix this problem? thanx

Do not attempt to connect your laptop to the network, just let it acquire the internet signal from the router. If you do a simply connection search, your machine should detect the internet connection and ask to connect to it. Let it.

It is true, that if you are not using XP pro to control the network, then you are limited to 5 network ip's. If you have XP pro, then it may be easier to create an domain, and set one of the systems up as a DNS. But all of that would entail allot of work and maintenance.

Also, if any of the other computers are off, then there should not be more the 5 on your network.
