Depends on when I'll have an opportunity to give a person their gift. If I won't see them at Christmas, but maybe will for New Year's Eve, I'll sometimes wait until after Christmas Day (when things go on sale) to buy the present. I have been burned by buying a present before Christmas that I gave out a week later, only to discover that somebody else already gave it to that person on Christmas Day!

Otherwise, I sometimes get more "inspired" when I do my shopping closer to Christmas Day if I didn't already have an idea for that person's gift.

One year, my mom and I waited until the day before Christmas to buy ANY of the presents. We were rushing out the door at 8 am, to the mall, bookstore, post office to rush ship gifts, the card store, toy store, etc. It was so hectic!

Well, I'm only twelve but my parents kind of spread out their shopping so it doesn't seem like they did it to fast or waited to long. The day of Christmas Eve though it's fun because everyone is doing last minute shopping.
