Having a bowler like Shoaib Akhtar in any team is great. He is unlike other fast bowlers in the world who just come and bowl. He is very intimidating and dents the batsmen phsycology and mentally. Whatever be the nature of the pitch, having a bowler who can bowl around 95 to 100 mph is always tough for the batsmen. No batsman likes the ball at 100 mph flying towards your nose.
A bowler like S Akhtar might go for runs, but when a fast bowler like him is on rhythm, there is nothing you can do about that. Go to youtube, check out some of the deliveries of Shoaib Akhtar which are unplayable.
But, there have also been issues with his discipline and fitness. His discipline has always been questioned. Some of the team mates might not feel comfortable being with him. But make no mistake, they are a "TEAM", and they play for their "COUNTRY". So, whatever be the discipline issues, when you are playing for your country, all are one.
Thus, i feel S Akhtar is a boon to the "team" - And, thats more important than personal rivalries. For me, he is a must in the team.

Pakistan Team is incomplete without Shoaib Akhtar. Shoaib also needs to be a bit more mature as he is a senior player. If he was fit, he could have been a strong contender of captaincy.

Considering his past record as far as his attitude and behaviour are concerned, he should not be in the pakistan Team as his presence in the team will adversely affect the team spirit

pakistan will do better with him in the team esp against india since most indian batsmen are scared of akhtars bowls.

He constantly has fitness problems. He himself will opt out after two years without playing a single game. He is habitual escapist he knows very well & for that he plays all sorts of artificial dramas.

if he is there hopefully it would do some good to the team; but i think asif should have solved the matter with shoaib itself rather than complaining it to PCB; that sort of an act looks really childish, atleast to me.

I think Pak is doing good enough right now without Shoaib.
If the youngsters feel uncomfortable in Shoaib's presence then he should be out of the national team.
As far as talent is concerned,he deserves a place in the side but
his attitude is wrong.

Yes he should be in the team becuase he has some good bowling statstics and can bowl fastly.
