I just found out I have LARGE amounts of ketones in my urine? What does this mean?

Protein in the urine is usually caused by preeclampsia (or high blood pressure) or gestational diabetes. I'm sure your doctor is aware of the findings and will do further testing or monitoring to find the cause, so don't worry until you hear something.

It means your kidneys are stressed and you are throwing out protein in your urine. Do you have high blood pressure? Have they said you have preeclampsia? Do you have high blood sugar or gestational diabetes? All of these things could cause protein in the urine. Hopefully they are keeping a close eye on you. How far along are you?

Are you very sick with morning sickness? If so then once you start to feel better and are better nourished this will go away. If not it may be a sign of something else. Good luck and hope you feel better

You could be dehydrated, undernourished (due to nausea) or you could have preeclampsia. Talk to your doc asap!
