Hello Eve T.... good to see you.
Clocks: started collecting mantle clocks a few years ago, was going strong, had all of them running, ticking away, the half hour strikes occupied about 2 minutes an hour, the hour strikes seemed endless (no two clocks ever, NEVER ran at exactly the same speed. Add to that, two coocoo clocks, and a full 1-2 minutes of Law and Order reruns sound was obliterated ( I can recite, word for word, all scripts of Law and Order, so it matters not! For awhile, this was charming. Then, for a while, this was .... somewhat noisey. Then it became downright annoying. By coincidence, while winding two of the things, the springs broke! Two down and 10 more to go. The next day, one of the coocoo clocks fell off the wall and splat, 1 more down...instantly, the cacophany was a little less...so I let them all wind down, and they have remained silent to this day. So much for collecting clocks!
Not being the one to remain idle, I decided that American coins were quiet, fun to look at , and would be a great thing to collect. Being the financial wizzard I am, I started out in what I thought was a modest way...bought everything I found that was interesting. (even the braille reader can see what is coming at this point). The coins are still sitting boxed...filling an entire 5 foot closet, floor to ceiling...I keep saying to myself, today I will get started sorting, inventorying, ... and then I sit down here to answer email, all with the best intentions..and a "best answer" pops up, I click, and ...well, here I am typing away instead of sorting coins. Playing with you all is far more fun that playing with hard, round shiny things! My bank account if furious with me for this little rampage, and I would be a fool to state how mad that account is. Let's just say that if anyone I knew were to tell me what they did and how much they spent over a course of one week, I would let them have it! IN fact, I let myself have it but good, but we are back to that arguing with oneself (one's self? ones self?) again...and, like so many of my routines, it is a pointless waste of time ( is that redundant? ...hmmmm).
Love and peace, Phil

Well after losing some great collections many years ago, I
have restarted my red glass collecting again. And I've filled
up the front of my fridge doors with an international post card
collection (sent to me by traveling friends). I was collecting
shoes, but I sold most of them at outdoor sales this summer
(I just accumlated too many, not really collecting).
Hubby is trying to start collecting some indian wall hangers
again. He used to have quite the collection at one time.

Eve ... so good to see you back! I do have a few collections. I also love clocks, but don't have many in my collection yet. I like the old retro style clocks. I also collect the old aluminum ware.. the pitchers, bowls, glasses and so on. I have a rock collection in the back yard. Every time we go camping or on a day trip we bring home new rocks for the garden.

Hi and good morning....I collect seraphine angels and also a fine collection of birds. My favorites are 'hummingbirds and bluebirds'. I also have a nice collection of 'Depression Glass' that my great grandmother started. I have two very unusual vases that was left to me by my grandmother. One is I believe made of 'ivory' with an unusual Greek design or possibly Indian design. The other is a plain green pottery vase with the name of the maker on the bottom. Have a great day!

Yes, I collect antique glassware and 2 types of cast iron skillets which are a bit hard to find. I have boxes of other collectibles in storage since I moved into an apartment. I need to learn how to sell on e-bay or find a local antique dealer to pay me for the whole caboodle.
I still love going to garage sales and antique stores but refrain from buying unless it's absolutely necessary. LOL

Are you "our" Eve ? I hope so! I don't collect anything as such but whenever I go to a store that sells yarn or crochet cotton I buy some ,just in case. I used to go to the store whenever I needed some and they were either out of what I wanted or they didn't have my colour,so now I collect it when I don't need it so that I will have it when I do. I hope this makes sense!

I collect post cards. It all started with a few cards I collected on a trip to Miami in 1952 when I was seven years old. Now I have cards from all around the world.

I assumed everybody has a 'collection' of some sort? Mine are kitchen plaques with cute sayings and anything Indian. I also keep my eyes open for adding to family/friends' collections. How do you have room for clocks? Are they working clocks? Cool.

Well, I can't seem to part with the sweet notes, drawings and little gifts my daughter keeps making for me. I have a box full of them, and the most recent ones are on display on a shelf on my entertainment center. She has a heart of gold and I just have a hard time telling her I am running out of room for these thoughtful gifts!
