How would you describe a female college athlete?

All so known as a Jill. I need some more tell tale signs when you got one. For a paper in my soc. class.

Girls in rough sports have to wear what is called a jill. It goes in the same area where a jock strap goes.

How about just Athlete, the same term you would describe a male athlete.
