Would the moribund Israeli leader, alias the Butcher of Jerusalem, have received a hard time in New York?

Is Sharon guilty of war crimes and human rights abuses...Yes
He has been implicated by Israel's own courts.

Was he behind the repression in Gaza in the late 60's that led to thousands of death?...yes : The massacre at Sabra and Chatilah in Lebanon? ..yes and a whole host of crimes stretching back to 1953.

Can you imagine the New York Press calling him EVIL? No

Yet when the Iranian leader arrives, he is called EVIL based on a few statements that are subject to interpretation.

What happened to fair-mindedness in the American spirit?

Yes, and if he could speak after all that bleeding in his brain, many people would think a miracle had occurred.

This shows your utter ignorance of the incident and your inability to actually research things and instead spout inanities.

So, here is a brief rundown of what happened.

- South Lebanese Army, an army allied with the Israeli army but not under the control or command of, goes into Sabra and Chatilah and massacres people.
- Left wing Israelis start demonstrations (its noteworthy that there were no Arab demonstrations) asking for an inquiry into the issue
- A commission is set up by Israel and investigates
- It finds, that Ariel Sharon, due to being the Minister of Defense, should have anticipated the possibility of the SLA committing a massacre. They recommend he resign.
- He does resign
- The incident, there-ever after, is solely blamed on Sharon by people like you who seem to portray the incident in such a way that it seems Sharon himself, Rambo style, went into the camps and mowed people down.

So, what happened? He wasn't brought to trial, he wasn't convicted, and no courts convicted him of War Crimes.

But I do also disagree with one thing. Columbia would have never have invited him in the first place. It seems that their "lets give everyone their say" justification that they applied to Iran's leader would have likely fallen by the wayside in his case. See, he's right wing. And there is one thing that leftists won't tolerate is someone like Arial.
