Yes, definitely. I actually had to research what the work "emo" meant because it's used so often, and I had no idea what it meant.

I'm 29.. so almost 30, and I don't have much of a problem figuring out what the kids are saying. I think alot of it has to do witht he fact that I listen to many different types of music, and in that case, the word is used in context, which makes it heasier to figure out..

Sometimes, but my niece is 16, so she keeps me "in the know" about stuff. There is a difference between teen lingo~and poor grammar, that is what bothers me the most, or that "spell check" isn't utilized like it should be!

It depends on the person. I'm 30 and I don't have a hard time with the "teen lingo"

Ha - I have some nephews & nieces that are in their teens so it's pretty easy for me to understand what they're saying...I can usually figure it out...but being 31, I feel old when I hear them speak that way...I'd sound like a moron if I used the same expressions they do.

Same w/ Blossom - it took me a long time to figure out 'emo', I'm still not 100% sure...kind of a punk/goth mixture? i don't know. lol

Yes, I have trouble understanding text lingo too. It's ruining our kids' brains. They don't know how to spell now.

I'm pre-texting generation, so that's way beyond me. What's more disturbing than the "lingo" is the illiteracy.

I don't even try to keep up with it, we aren't suppose to. That's there language. We all had our little ways of talking, and if you don't understand it, well then you're hanging around people who are way to young for you.
