I'm 14 years old and I want to start acting, singing, and theatre as a serious thing. I don't just want to be famous, I really love theatre and singing and acting. I am willing to do whatever it takes to become a proffessional actress, even if that means commercials or just extras in movies or one-time appearances in tv shows. How can I get discovered? I have a headshot and a resume. Now what?

Thanks for your help. Please be nice. =]

Audition, audition, audition. Make sure that you go to a good college like Jullliard as well. A lot of our more famous actors these days are graduating from these top acting schools. Go to New York and audition for the New York Actors Workshops. Keep on keeping on,it takes a tremndous amoun to f perserverence and an ability to take alot of rejection. One show that seems really easy to get on seince I know about 10 people that were atleast a "dead body" I think it called "ER Special Victims Unit"/// I am not sure about the ER part, but I know that Special Victims Unit is definitely the last part of the name of the show. Good Luck,

Well, our friends answers above are pretty close, but seem to be based on hearsay rather than info. First, I always have to correct a misconception young people have about commercials. They are the best work you can get, not the easiest or lowest. People just aren't discovered any more. It your headshot and resume are up to professional standards, you can start applying to agents for representation. But don't think that they are going to leap at the chance to sign you. They get thousands of great applications every day and most go in the trash. So in the meanwhile, you have to keep performing whenever and wherever you can. You do all the school shows, the contests, the pagents, everything. And you take a professional class. You keep building your resume and you keep applying to agents and you find open auditions in the trade papers and you work and you work and you work.
Oh, did you know that your parents have to apply to the agencies for you until you are 18? For more info, read my profile and write me at my aol address.

Do everything you can locally. Audition for a role in every thing imaginable. Take classes, singing lessons, anything that will improve your skills. Start looking at colleges that have the best performing arts programs. I have two friends that took this route and at 40, one is just now getting small roles on Broadway the other one has had a couple small movie parts and is still doing local theater. It takes a lifetime of dedication and commitment and the rewards are usually few. If you love it, do it! Good luck :)

If you're in school, begin taking categories in school and audition for scholar performs, scholar movies, and so forth to get revel in to construct up your resume. Most schools present a few form of theatre/performing categories. Being an actress is not going to furnish revenue in your household. Less than five% of SAG actors, those are actors who've performed adequate reliable paintings to qualify for SAG to start with, earn greater than $5000 a 12 months via performing. Most actors will become spending extra on their headshots and categories than they'll ever earn via performing. You cannot get into TV or movie with out an agent. You cannot get an agent with out a few years of each coaching and revel in.
