Yeah, it's possible. You could probably be related to or a direct descent from an illegitimate offspring. There are thousands of people out there who could trace their family lineage back to an illegitimate offspring from a Scottish or British monarch.
The late Princess Diana was a descendant of King Charles II of England through four illegitimate sons.

Yes, it is very possible. I am descended from a soldier who arrived here in Australia in 1791 with wife and children. When a distant cousin tried to count all his descendants, he gave up when he reached 15,000. That is enough for a good sized town. When a second cousin had a big family re-union on her farm in 1984, there were more than 300 people there, some had come from Canada and the USA.

The present Queen Elizabeth II is a descendant of the original King Macbeth of Scotland through her mother who was not royal, but just one of the landed Scots gentry. Macbeth of history was rather different from the Macbeth of Shakespeare's play.

Genealogists used to go to town whenever a new President of the USA was elected, but the last one I saw was for President Reagan. His family was originally Irish and it was shown that he was a distant relative of Queen Elizabeth.

So were mine... They had many children, and those had many too... so the kings of Scotland have a great many descendants, all the more as you go back to the earlier kings and the more generations separated from the direct line.

For that matter, I'm also descended from the kings of France, and through their own ancestors from the royalties of I don't know how many countries... and I know several people who do too.

Absolutely, I can believe it. Scottish kings were very generous about sharing their genetic material! Most of them had illegitimate children.
