yes it is quite normal and it is so much better, the longer they wait to have teeth erupt the stronger they are , try popsicles , or frozen teething rings especially made for this to help lessen the swollen gums and to give relief from the pain*

First of all, don't give a baby "meds". A little orajel or an ice'd cold towel will soothe her aching gums. 8 months is not too old not to have cut her first tooth. Try massaging them as frequently possible. Allow her to gnaw on some teething toys, like the teething rings that are filled with liquids that you normally put in the refridgerator or freezer. Basically something sort of firm & solid. You'll see something sprouting soon.

Oh babies..they are sweet but each one is so different. It is frustrating. My daughter will be two next month and I'm still waiting for her last two teeth to come down. I can see little specks of white poking out by they are staying put! It is normal, every child is different. There is this great little invention. It looks like a soother but where the nipple is there is a mesh bag instead. You put fruit (cold) into the mesh bag and the baby just munches away on it and it is soothing on her gums. Make sure she has cool (not frozen!) toys to suck on..try not to use too much of the medication, try some alternatives before you slather that stuff on. We used the baby anbesol at night so our daughter would sleep better but during the day we tried other remedies first and kept her busy. (which babies do on their own too!) Good luck.

I have 5 children and they all got their teeth at different times. My first got his at six months but my third didn`t get his until he was nine months and he was already walking. There`s an old wives tale that says that the longer the teeth are in the gums the better they will be. I don`t know if it is true or not but my third child has the best teeth of the bunch. Don`t worry it won`t be long now.

my baby had no teeth till she was about ten months actually that was when they started showing lol she got the front four fully in in the 11 month and the next two months she just kept getting all the rest back to back dont worry they will come when they are ready you should only worry if her gums get bloody red or another color other then that she'll be fine

Some don't get teeth until after a year but the teeth can start to irritate the gums before they appear. If you think she is teething, it doesn't hurt to give her tylenol. Does she have other signs of teething like drooling excessively??

Some kids get teeth within months of being born. Some kids don't get teeth until they are almost a year. Point is every child is different.

well, she is going to be one of those late teethers. Which isn't a bad thing actually, they say that the slower a baby starts to get teeth, that they will have good strong teeth later

8 months isn't close to being late. Why would you think that's why she's crying? It's not like she knows the average age for getting teeth.
