My friend of 10 years, constantly refers to herself as a "diva" and a princess and she talks about how hot she
**thinks** she is...

its gotten really annoying after all these years.

How can I tell her to grow up and get over herself without ruining our friendship?

i had a friend who was a total show-off when I was your age

try to set a limit. u have to be firm with her to show that ur tired of what she's doing. sometimes u can't change people though, so it might or might not work

What's wrong with having a stuck-up friend? Doesn't it ever make you laugh? Is her energy positive or what? Are you a little bit jealous of the attention she gets?

Some egocentric people can be a drain on us. If that is the case then it is time to move away from her. I wouldn't be thinking in terms of changing her behavior. But friends also are deserving of our honesty. Someone I have known for years is going to get a pretty heavy dose of reality therapy from me - they'll always know what I think. If they put up with that (and with the rest of me) I'd probably cut them some slack and be very tolerant of them.

True princesses and other lovely people dont have to tell other people how "hot" they are. Instead they show it!

Tell your friend that you agree that she is really hot but you'd rather see her show it than talk about it because the talk is starting to get on your nerves. If she is truly your friend, she will thank you. If she gets mad, you might want to re-think spending time with somebody that annoys you.

I have to agree with Liz. Just tell her the routine is getting old and it's time to retire it and move on.

You'll probably just offend or upset her. She's your friend, you just have to accept her how she is instead of trying to make people change for your benefit.

I think its great that she has that much confidence in her self. Would you rather have her cut her self down all the time and feel crappy about her self.
