Déjà vu is french for "already seen", also called paramnesia from the Greek word para for parallel and mnēmē for memory. It is the experience of feeling that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously. The term was coined by a French psychic researcher, Émile Boirac (1851–1917) in his book L'Avenir des sciences psychiques (The Future of Psychic Sciences), which expanded upon an essay he wrote while an undergraduate. The experience of déjà vu is usually accompanied by a compelling sense of familiarity, and also a sense of "eeriness", "strangeness", or "weirdness". The "previous" experience is most frequently attributed to a dream, although in some cases there is a firm sense that the experience "genuinely happened" in the past. Déjà vu has been described as "remembering the future."

Last week I dreamed that I woke up late for work before I actually woke up and was late for work. I think that would be an example of deja vu.

It's the feeling that you've been someplace or seen someone before but u can't quite remember what happend.
Scientifictly it's a mistake of the brain. I don't remember the full lecture on it but I believe I may have seen on the news show 20/20. If that helps any.

It is the "profound" belief that you have "been there, done that and are now "going through that same atmosphere again." It is most intense and sometimes overwhelming. I believe that a long time ago "for the rare few of us," folk were actually reincarnated. This is why certain events aren't so "strange" to us. Peace, Love and God Bless.

Most of your respondents have told you what it is.
The current explanation is that you have one eye more dominant than the other just as your right hand is more dominant than your left.
When your right eye captures a scene it sends a message to the brain then your "weaker" eye reports the scene and your brain says "I know I've already seen that"

A feeling. Of an experience of something you have experienced before. - not like remembering something or some place but feeling it again - eg. a place you have been, feeling love as you have felt once etc.
