Ok the patriots have a talented roster, we cannot deny that. So why videotape. As a new jersey ticket holder tries to sue we as fans have not thought about something. If you you were caught cheating the league should of forfeit the game I think. Now the real question is how long has The Patriots have done this. If they have been doing it for 2-3 years than they have all the signals stashed somewhere. So in a sense all fans have the right to sue....since the league is just slapping them on the rist. Its just like what happened with the NBA referees they got caught cheating so FBI stepped in. If i know the signals and I know i can win....CAN I BET TO WIN THE GAME....

I am sure other teams have cheated in some way. If you notice as you watch a game there a cameras at the offensive and defensive coordinators box. They take the game and analyze it so they can know the team next time. The essence is what is the price of WINNING. I can stand on the sideline with my headphones on, i can get instant pictures of Defense and Ofense schemes, I can talk to defene and ofense to branistorm what they heard - but thats not enough - Thats the point. I can be a hard rock muscle player or i can be a quick thinker. But you know what lets just cheat a little bit because my skills are not enough. Lets just ENTERTAIN the people on our Modern COLESIUM... wrestling is a sport on the amateur level. At the professional level is ENTERTAINMENT it cannot be compared to FOOTBALL. Its been this way for years.

I agree. I also look forward to the court case which should be interesting. With that said, what does the team/league owe the paying viewers? Or do they owe more than just the paying viewer since most teams are subsidiesed with city tax payers money (stadiums, ect). Now this does make a huge distinction; think of it like this . . . nobody complains that professional wrestling is rigged because it's a completely private company.
It is very true that with more and more technology that cheating will be easier and harder to catch. What this means is that when it is caught, it should be a much harsher penalty to be a deterrent. New England’s total fines are $750,000 with penalties come draft time. This is not a slap on the wrist but it is not fair to the opposing team (or paying viewers). I think a huge fine and automatic forfeit of the game would prevent such cheating in the future.
. . . and more improtantly prevent another law suit, as if we do not have enough blockage in the courts and too many lawyers.

Mangini knew the Pats did some stuff and blew the whistle becasue he got his face handed to him. Here in Boston and nationally Bill was getting pounded by the media...until he whooped San Diego with the NFL sitting on his shoulder. To counter your real question of "how long have the Pats done this", you're assuming that they are the ONLY team that is doing it. I counter your question with: "How many teams have done this, how long and what has been the outcome?" Why didn't Mangini bring this up last year? Or for that matter, any of the years he was with Billy on the Pats staff?
During the post week one hype, Andy Reid said "I'm sure teams try to steal signals all the time...I think it's not isolated. If anything, becasue they were filming it, that is why it was such a big deal." That from a coach that knows better than any blogger on Yahoo Answers. If coaches aren't afraid about stealing signals, then tell John Gruden and Norv Turner to stop holding their clipboard over their mouths when they call signals. And if you think no one asks a newly signed free agent about their old team when they play head-to-head, you're sadly mistaken.
If this idiotic NJ lawsuit is going to go through, then there will be more lawsuits and Andy Reid's interview will be played 1,000 times. If the NJ Lawsuit wins, expect a lot more lawsuits like this. expect multiple coaches and players outside of the Patriots to be put on the stand. The Patriots got caught by a former coach, period.

Shocker. in case you think of that is basically the Jets and Pats, you will desire to do greater interpreting. Filming has been component to the sport as a results of fact that its inception. it is not why the Pats gained, and the shortcoming of it is not why the Jets are dropping. The Pats are winning as a results of terrific offense to ever grace the sector. The Jets are dropping as a results of fact they are in a position to't supply up the run, and have a vulnerable O-Line that's killing the two Thomas Jones and their passing game. Tapes or no longer, the gamers nevertheless would desire to execute to win. it somewhat is the adaptation. The taping, no be counted who's doing it, is media fodder. supply up eating the cool help.

I guess in looking at the answers on here I'm one of the few that agrees with you on this. As a season ticket holder (not for the Pats for Jets) I would feel cheated if I knew there was a chance that not all of the games I spent my hard earned money on were tampered with in anyway. We need to remember, us the fans are the ones paying these million dollar salaries. We pay the salaries in order to see competitive fair competition between two teams.
Now as far as the suit goes I don't think anything will come out of it since it will be tough for them to prove what games they cheated on. Common sense tells you one thing but the courts can't base decisions off of common sense.

So by what you are saying, every1 who ever spent money on a WWE matchup should have their money back because it was fixed...
.....do you see how your logic is flawed?
and besides, just by knowing signals doesnt guarentee victory, there is still the hurdle of the opposing players skills to take into account.
IN ADDITION: you also have to prove that Bill Belichek and/or members of his coaching stadd bets on games, in which there is no evidence.
AND MORE: Fans can sue like little babies all they want, the courts will not hear it because a.) There is no concrete evidence that the pats cheated consistently (you can say all the circumstantial evidence all you want, but thats what it is; circumstantial) b.) Even the NFL and their commissioner cleared the pats of wrongdoing
Let it go man.....

All the Patriot haters have thought about it, even though Andy Reid of the Eagles said the thought was ridiculous (The Eagles lost a Super Bowl to the Pats)...The NFL got the tapes and destroyed them...Its over...Let it go...

Trust me, they are just the first to be caught breaking this years new rule. At this level of competition, this (and many other) "infractions" are common. To think they "owe" fans something is ridiculous, and I'm sure the courts will agree.
