Makes no sense to me either, if you look at the most attractive Hollywood actresses they all have very pale skin and go out of their way to protect themselves from sun damage.

I'm a caramel golden-brownish color, so otherwise i am tan. I luv my skintone and i wouldn't want to make it lighter than what it really is, i have been called by some ppl light-skinned, but i don't believe that i am that light. believe it or not, i had some black ppl look down on my cuz of my skin color. For some reason they think i am conceited cuz i have "good hair and light skin." which is so not true, the ppl that actually know me and take the time to know me, will find out none of that nonsense is true. There's more to someone than their looks. Try a personality.

Well I'm just happy that I was naturally born with tan skin (I'm half white and half black). I think white skin and black skin are both beautiful. People just need to learn how to live in the skin they were born in...

LIght complexion could be anyone...black, hispanic, asian, white.

standards of beauty are always changing. one day light skin is in and the next you have to go out and get a tan.(and fake ones just make you look orange!) so who knows? just be your natural self.

that depends on the person... im tan and i prefer white girls, ive been to germany and germans prefer tan skin (italians, spaniards, etc).. probably u get tired of seeing ur own raze, but in some cases that is not true...

people do NOT like white skin. People with white skin call themselves "fish belly legs" and such. They want dark skin and spend millions on products that help make your skin tan.

I think they are confused. I think that they want a light complected black person's skin color, but not the stigma that goes with it. Let's face it healthy glowing brown skin is beautiful.

Well some look good tanned but makes you look old and ages you! unless you are naturally tanned!
In my opinion i like pale guys with blue eyes, not tanned! i hate the pretty boy look.
