I get extremely bad period pains! Every single month the pain is so much I really can't take it, I cry so much out of pain and get really angry and aggressive, break things, shout at people, hit them, and I always end up making the decision of having a hysterectomy to stop my period altogether. They really are too bad to handle and I know everybody gets them but these feel abnormal, just too painful! The pain is usually so bad I'm sweating.. my legs shake, at times I've nearly passed out.

Also, I get mid month pains too which are mild but it's a very irritating continuous pain over a few days.

Firstly I need advice, is this normal?!

Secondly, what should I do? Has anyone had this themselves? I've seen a doctor, painkillers don't work. I've had an ultrasound scan and everything was said to be normal. The doctor suggested I needed to up my iron intake and that was the reason I was getting such bad pains, but surely that can't be the reason they're THIS bad?!

Help me! :(

Could be endometriosis or polycystic ovaries and I think both could potentially be missed with an ultrasound. Pain to the level you are saying is not normal to put down as period pain. Legs shaking and sweating and almost passing out certainly is a reasonable cause of concern.

An earlier partner told me endo felt like someone was sticking a hot knife in her belly and twisting it a lot. She had a note from a gynacologist allowing a paramedic to call them, and recommending pethedine should the patient be found paralysed in agony

You can potentially get temporary relief from endometriosis from surgery ablations. Drugs to shut down the menstrual process can be used.

This is normal for some people. Dont get the shots that get rid of your period for ever because its not natural. Eating well and exercising can minimize PMS and menstrual pains. Massage, herbal medicine and acupuncture have also been proven to help painful periods.

You might want to try taking midol that usally helps. The doctor might be right about that. But It is believed that approximately 75 per cent of all menstruating women suffer from premenstrual syndrome so dont feel alone.

Maybe this will help

ya. I have this problem when I was a teenagers. I almost faint inside the mrt and have to go home immediately to rest. The pain was just too unbearable for me to take it. Than I realise that when having period taking cold drink will cause the pain to be very serious. I try not to take cold drink at all, and than i feel better every month. Now i am 35, after i give birth to my first child, the pain stop. Now i don't feel any pain at all. so maybe after you give birth, this problem will solve or improve. so now try not to take any cold drink or fruits when having period. if you want to drink water, i will advise you to drink warm water. wish you the best.

i get that to except my pains are so bad that i throw up every month, im not gonna say go to a normal doctor because i did and all they did was give me some pills a little stronger than advil that do not work. so go straight to a gyno and get on the pill or get tested for any abnormalities.

You need to go the doctor. They might be able to do a D and C which is more commonly used for abortion. But cleans out uterus lining. You also need to be checked for ovarian, cervical, and uterine cancer. Don't wait on this. As these cancers spread like wildfire. It could be cysts in uterus or ovaries as well.

ok 1st of all this does sound abnormal. I think that you should see the docter again and convince him you really wanna have this checked, it might even be something else wrong that trigers your period to be worse.

and can you answer my question i need advice soon and tell people to ansewr it to. PLEASE soon.
