Goaltending should be much better for LA this year, even with two inexperianced guys in Labarbara and Bernier. They're both Grade A NHL goaltending prospects. Their young core of forwards is only getting better every year and they've got a surprisingly solid defense with Rob Blake, Lubomir Visnovsky, Jack Johnson, Tom Priessing, Jaroslav Modry, and Brad Stuart. That's a damn good top 6.

Anaheim is lacking depth on defense until Schnieder and/or Neidermayer comes back. Until then Pronger and Beauchemin will have a huge load on them. Giguere is a big upgrade over Bryzgalov as well. They still have good depth at forward, even with Selanne and Penner gone. Getzlaf and Perry look like top line guys already, and they added Bertuzzi and Ryan, so they're in good shape there. IMO, Ducks will get off to a slow start because of short summer and all those injuries, but they will definately make the playoffs, especially if Neidermayer comes back.

lol I was about to ask you how many stupid pills you took to come up w/that shat.

Yeah indeed the LA Kings will win the SC this season and then we will have no more NHl b/c the rest of the players will all go into convulsions, fits, fainting spells, heart attacks, and go insane and will need those cute buckle up white jackets. The good news is Bettman will be out of a job.

im actually an L.A kings fan I must say Ive been watching bernier play for awhile now in juniors, the canada russia series and the 2 games so far for L.A along with pre-season and he's damn good I dont care how young he is he's got great positioning. L.A's defense got loaded up this year as well with johnson stuart and preissing plus they still got lubo and blake. On offence kopitar is going to shock fans (especially unfamiliar eastern team fans) he's the crosby of the west. Cammalari and Frolov are a hit. If L.A can stay healthy I can see them making the playoffs again for the first time in a long time. And as we know when L.A is in the playoffs...watch out, they are a top contender they seem to...enjoy beating Detroit in the playoffs hahh. They won't win the cup this year but they are sure gonna turn some heads i'm excited!

Yes, they are way better. All they need is to pray that Giguere, Schnieder, Neidermayer, Selanne, and Pahlsson sit out the entire season...

But seriously, the Kings I think right now are better than the Ducks. Cammalleri, and Kopitar are stepping up offensively, and Bernier is an amazing 19-year old goaltender who answers the question left by Dan Cloutier.

I was about to hop all over you. Giguere will be out again today and hopes to be back when they arrive to the U.S. (vs. Detroit I think).
That said, LA seems improved, good to see jonathan Bernier, a kid I am familiar with excel in goal for them but they can't expect a 19 year old to carry them in goal all year. Also, I found it interesting that Eklund from hockeybuzz.com had the Ducks missing the play-offs.
However, it is ONE game of many but they all count equally.

Nice save for a formely suspended guy.
Its a long flight back to the US. Things can happen. Swedish terrorists disguised as Gary Bettman could be looking for that extra defenseman. Never know. Remember, just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

One game does not a Stanley Cup make, but it is a step in the right direction. L.A. will do better this year and the Ducks will fade (hahahaha) but there are a lot of other good teams out there hungry for a Cup (comme d'habitude).

The LA Kings won't win the Cup because the Ducks weren't even starting giguere, and Schneider, Niedermayer and Pahlsson were all inactive, so don't worry ducks fans.

not with a teenage goalie that hasn't proven himself yet. If they can get a good goalie, then maybe, but they have no better chances than any other team in the league.
