i would defiantly give my family and close friends a large amount of money for them to do as they wish, i would also give to my favourite charities and invest some, i wouldn't need a massive house with pool and 10 bedrooms or a car for every day of the week i live alone so whats the point, a nice little cottage would do me fine, one thing i would buy would be a place abroad ,why have the millions and keep it yourself when you could give it to the ones you love :)

I would not feel obligated though I'd probably would pay off everyone's mortgages and make sure funds were available for any of their children planning on going to University.
I'm not a shopper to begin with so the idea of spend, spend, spend is just not me. I don't feel the need to impress so a rolex, designer clothes etc. hold no sway with me.
I love to be a philanthropist and be able to give to all the causes that interest me, mainly child poverty, but there is so much need in the world.
I think that Irish man really knew how to live...and love.

Well First off, I would buy my friends and family nice stuff. Second I would still live in the house I'm in now, it serves me just fine. I would then set up a fund that would pay all of my bills and give myself a descent amount of monthly money. I may do this for my whole family depending on how big the win is. The rest would be given away. through my Church, and anonymously to those in and around my community that are in need.

I wouldn't buy my friends and family expensive things. I think that "things" just fosters materialism. You've heard the saying "no one appreciates what they are given?" I think that is totally true where money is concerned! What I would do is set up trust accounts for all of them, ones that continue to earn interest, so that they can get that interest on a monthly basis as either extra money or to live on if they needed it. That leaves the bulk of the money in the accounts until they retired. That is the gift that keeps on giving...
I think we have an obligation when we are wealthy to share that wealth with non-profits of our choice. My favorite non-profits all help women and children. My very favorite is one that I was on the board of directors of for a long time... Carousel Ranch. It helps handicapped and abused kids using physcial therapy on horseback. If you ever wanted to believe in miracles, watch the empathy between the horses and the kids. It brings a tear to your eye just watching the difference the horses make to their quality of life...
With wealth comes obligation to make a difference in the universe.

I would want to buy my family houses and cars and give them enough money to guarantee a safe future for them (and if possible give them enough so as not to have to work again).
I would also buy my friends a flat or something and also make sure they have no financial problems.
I would of course give to charity. I don't see the point in buying expensive things, they are all made in the same factory anyway! And by the way, I love Primark!

Big house with indoor pool & a snooker room.
Aston Martin DB9, Mercedes SL55 AMG, Maybach Exelero.
Ileagal drugs

That is an awe inspiring story. I myself would not be comfortable living like that and that's not wrong. But..to answer your question..if my friends and family DESERVED to be lavished with expensive gifts and such, certainly I would give if I could but NOT if they expected me to. That my friend is GREED. I like you would use my wealth to make the lives of others richer in areas that they truly lacked or had need. God bless you for such a thought provoking question.

I would donate some to the nspcc, then i would see my family and close friends alright, as i know they would me, and yes they would deserve it. I would put some aside for when my children are older and buy myself a bigger house. I would not just waste it all, but invest wisely.

Wow, I would help who I could, and I just don't believe in spending wastefully.
I agree, I would WANT to but I would not feel obligated to help friends and relatives.
