The shift to shaving happened over time as women who were more hirsute than others used products from depilatories to razors to remove unwanted hair from their bodies. Certainly the fashion industry has driven the level of interest up in being smooth instead of hairy and made being hairy undesirable for women as a whole. However, there are subcultures within America and other cultures worldwide that do not practice hair removal for various reasons ranging from religious belief to personal preference. Because men are as media-driven and affected by what they see portrayed as 'desirable', they are sensitive to issues regarding hair and how much is considered 'normal' for a woman. I don't know that this is a blame issue, however, as some women have such hairy bodies and faces that it makes them personally uncomfortable. This really boils down to a singular issue - if you are happy with your hair, don't do anything to it. If you are not, make a change. As for pleasing men, there ARE men who prefer a natural woman. It may take some looking but if that is the type of man a woman desires and vice versa (if the man desires a natural woman) they can find one another. Certainly in this day and age of internet dating, there would be room for natural grooming ideals to be forwarded for those who prefer those standards. There is no one right answer as it truly depends upon what you personally desire.

In my opinion~~a man's back.....when it's fully hairy....it's very SCARY! If it were my back, I'd have whatever treatments I needed to get rid of the hair forever.

Arms,especially if it's someone athletic who has to lift them up a lot when taking part in activities.
