Grizz, why winterize it? some of your best riding is in the snow. I drill 5/16 hexhead screws in the knobbies and have a blast in the snow. If you really want to winterize it , I always did nothing. It isn,t gonna hurt it to sit for a few months. Just drain your gas in the spring and put new gas in. It isn,t going to seize up or anything. People park their vehicles all winter in unheated barns and sheds and it doesn,t hurt them at all.

If your looking to winterize for long term storage, (lets say you live in Siberia and only get to ride in the warmest days - 3 days a year lol) then all you really need to do is put some Stabil in the gas tank then run the engine 5 minutes to let the Stabil fuel stabilizer cycle though the carb.
Also, after doing that, you might pull the spark plug and put about a teaspoon or two of motor oil in the cylinder and then slowly crank the kickstarter by hand to slowly cover the cylinder with a thin coat of oil. This will help protect the cylinder from corrosion.
When you start the motor next time, expect some black smoke for a bit until it burns out.

That should just about do it.

Well said. Why bother putting a dirtbike away just because the weather is getting worse.

Get out there and rip the mud, slush and snow up!
