Girl, if anybody here can really relate to what you're going through it's me. I had my one and only shot of that "poison" depo provera May 30, 2006. The longest I would go without bleeding was 2 week, one time I didn't bleed for almost 3 months and one time I spotted for 2 months and 2 days straight. In August that just passed, I fainted because my period lasted 2 months and 2 days straight and I was low on iron and dehydrated. I was put on birth control pills to regulate my period and 4 pills stopped my consistent spotting! After one month of being on the pills to regulate my period I stopped taking it, I decided to just accept what I was going through and let it get out of my system whenever it does. After that, I started having periods every other week or every 2 weeks. It will be 17 months on the 30th of this month since I had my first shot of depo and I have yet to become pregnant. I hate that "poison" and it should be off the market.

I can totally relate. I had took like 3 shots last year,I've been spotting around the time the next shots were due. After my last shot, I didn't get my full cycle til 6 months after the last shots. Don't me wrong, I like the shots b/c of no or less periods but other than that, it takes a looong time to try to conceive. That's the worst part. It has been 13 months since I last took the shots and still I'm not able to conceive yet!
To answer your question, if you don't like the shots, maybe you could talk to your dr about getting another birth control, if you don't like taking the pills, there's more options now, like the rings, patches and the iuds. The iuds are way more effective than any other birth control but it costs an arm and leg though.

My first piece of advice is if you plan on having kids at all in the next few years do not use the depo shot. It can take months or years to recover. Some women never recover.
The second thing is you may want to ask your doctor about meds to try and regulate your cycle again. I think you have to give your body a little bit of a rest from the hormones first, but at some point he/she may be able to give you something to try and help get your body back on track.
Good luck.

Any one can relate. Depo is a serious hormone therapy, it builds up in your system and takes quite a few months to get out so your body can regain its balance.
Life is not a nightmare, your body is functioning like it ought to. Three months is barely long enough for you body to cycle ON the hormones, and certainly its going to take time to it to recover from trying to conform to the shot.
Wear pads and wait a couple months.

I can't relate, but I would strongly advise you to consult with your doctor about birth control pills. That can help regulate your period. Just take them until you get your first period, and then you can stop.
