I think they would like older stuff too, maybe more if they ever got to hear of it. The music channels just play recent stuff over and over, oldies are considered anything from seven years ago. My own kids were exposed to music from all eras and now love it all and are very good at pointing out to me great stuff from new people. I wonder if we'll ever see such wonderful and innovative music as there was in the sixties and seventies, but I live in hope and make sure I keep my own ears open. We must encourage our young folk to do the same. :)

today's generation listen to all sort of music, so I won't judge it.

To me, music is a form of creativity, so its not a crime for whatever kind of music an artist can come up with. There should be no restriction.

If I were to say that today's music sucks, does that meant we should all stick to yesterday's music? If we do, then creativity dies there.

Music is something that changes with time, there's no good or bad, so long as an artist could sing or plays his/her instrument well.

I like it.

People always talk about each generation's music and most say how terrible it is. Then, that time passes, and we do it again.

i'm part of this generation, and the mainstream has never really gotten to me. i like some of the more beat- driven hits (like "the way i are" by timbaland & keri hilson) but my taste lies in trance, alternative, and eighties music (like duran duran and depeche mode.) a lot of my friends think i have a weird music taste, but that's because they're mostly listening to rap. so, honestly, i really don't care about songs that are "in," because i like to expand my music boundaries.
