4th root of 4 = 4^(1/4) = 2^(1/2)

Cube root of 2 equals 2^(1/3)

2^(1/2) times 2^(1/3) = 2^(5/6), or, the 6th root of 2 to the 5th.

Wouldn t the cubed root of eighty one be solved like this: the sq. root of eighty one is 9. The sq. root of 9 is 3, subsequently the cubed root is 3? I don t understand, i think of I m flunking PRE algebra.... sigh.

4^(1/4) = 2^[2(1/4)] = 2^(1/2)

2^(1/2) * 2^(1/3) = 2^(5/6)

Answer: 2^(5/6)
