Ours come early on a Tuesday. If the bin is overflowing(which it never is) they will tip it into the lorry, but not lift any excess bags which are lying next to the bin. The "overflow" guys come round on a Thursday to lift any bags, by which time, they are usually ripped apart by dogs, birds or others!! The "sweepy street" guys come round on a Sunday to finally clear up the rubbish that has been blowing around the street since Tuesday!!!!

Friday. Our bin is normally full/ overloaded like yours is. Just recently they gave us a new bin that is only half the size of the old one and you use the old one to collect recycling that comes fortnightly. A good trick if they're getting snotty about collecting overloaded bins is to use the excess space in the neighbours bins after they have put them out.

*Dancing Queen* If you're unable to comply with the new arrangements you can phone the council and tell them why and they will provide special arrangements for you.

Our binmen collect on Thursdays, and as our houses stand back from the road we have to take our bins down to the pavement for them. We are not allowed to put them out the night before or over fill them, anything left alongside will not be taken. They come alternate weeks for household stuff and plastic and tins the other weeks. I always take my neighbours bin down and bring up the empty one for her as she works and is often gone too early for the binmen. I get a nice hug for my trouble which makes it all worthwhile.

Friday , and then they don't come again for a fortnight!
We are not allowed to overload the bin, they have a "closed lid" policy. If the bin lid is open they don't take it. When I have had a curry on a friday night, a roast dinner on a sunday and two weeks of dirty nappies, you can imagine the smell! We suffer from maggots every summer, no matter how carefully I wrap and how much I recycle. Disgusting!

Hi,my binmen come every week, but!!,they only empty the grey bin once a fortnight, and the recycle bin once a fortnight,as i have a big family, 2 grown up adult children,20,and 21yrs, and 2 more, aged 14,and 8yrs,and myself and hubby,it is a nightmare!.
If they want to encourage us to recycle more, and become more eco friendly, then i think they should empty the recycle bin, green, every week, because if ours gets full,we end up putting the rubbish in the non recycle grey bin.
Finally we have a glass box, thats emptied every 2 wks, that is still prob, as we drink alot of wine!!.

Thursday mornings (early) so I have to take all 3 containers out to the street on Wednesdays, because I go to work so early. They are only usually full after a party or when I do extensive yard work on Sundays. It seems as though the Binman comes around more and more each week, seems like I take the trash out every other day and not every 7 days..........Here they call them trash collecting trucks, we have 3 different ones..1 for regular trash 2. for recycle and 3 for green trash - like grass and stuff.........

Friday - never more than half full as we also have a recycling bin.
Oddly, the bin men come around midday, about 3 hours after the street cleaning truck goes...shouldn't it be the other way round?!

Tuesday, and binmen and rubbish are the perfect ingredient i've got heard this week. it is definitely surprising because of the fact in usa of america, we are saying lame issues like trash and stuff. Oh my god you're surprising.

Monday (thanks for reminding me to leave it out tonight). It's not usually full and never overloaded so much that the lid won't fit. The "recycling" bin is usually full and very heavy to move, even on wheels.

Mondays, and the RE-Cycling lorry on Tuesdays. My bin bags have gone down from 3 to 1 since they introduced Re-Cycling.
