Most of the time a divorce is like a death, and in fact that is what it is. A divorce party, is like a wake. So it would be modeled more like a consolation for your loss/ sorry about the death card. It is a sad event, and the best way to handle it is to offer a chance for the individals of the former couple to heal, realising that their emoions will be screwed up for a while afterwords. In a sense they are both widdows of living people, so "congratulations" is not quite the word you want.

Your right sometimes it is a good thing, actually I think most times it is, you wouldn't get a divorce unless you needed to. So here is to you!

Congrats on your divorce!
No more stolen blankets, no more dirty towels at the end of the bed, no more husband standing at the fridge yelling " Hun where's the mayo"!

You go girl!!!!

There are now many places you can personalize cards any way you want them. Sometimes it really feels great to be FREE when the divorce is final. Congrats

You congratulate when dreams come true. Divorce is not a dream in life.

I don't know, but I had a "divorce" party, & invited all our wedding guests [well, most of them, as some people we lost contact with], & we gave them their wedding gifts back! We had a wedding cake with a boxing couple on top, & everyone agreed it was better than the wedding party. It was very therapeutic for the kids.

Congrats on your divorce hunny! Live well, live wise, live sweet, and be nice.... rub it in how much better your life is now that he's out of it!
