If you haven't had a recent pap I'd strongly consider talking to a doctor about your painful periods.

Get a pap smear and let the doctor know what is going on and for how long. You may have cysts on your ovaries and they can cause a lot of pain and bleeding. It could be an std or HPV or something to do with your cervix like dysplasia. It has been ongoing so it is time to consult with a doctor and get further explanation of what is occurring . They may recommend a transvaginal ultrasound. It doesn't hurt but you will feel some pressure when they are doing a part of the ultrasound. Other than that it is just one of the many embarrassing things that women have to go through in order to stay in good health. Make sure when they do your pap smear that you ask for a rectal pap as well. They need to insert a finger to be able to feel your ovaries and will press down on your belly while doing it. It only lasts about 15-20 seconds and it doesn't hurt, just embarrassing and a little uncomfortable to have anyont in your butt.
